Retired Navy captain Chris Ferguson is the commander for the shuttle Atlantis, which is scheduled to blast off for the 135th and final mission Friday. Ferguson says the mission's major work will be transferring a year's worth of supplies to the International Space Station. He is a veteran of two previous missions.
Ferguson grew up here in Philadelphia, graduated from Archbishop Ryan High school and Drexel University. He is taking a piece of the Fels Planetarium into space with him.
