Casey Anthony: She was ‘very animated’ this morning

                                                                       Casey Anthony was back in court this morning before jurors resumed their deliberations for a second day.

Television commentators focused on Anthony’s look. She is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee.

WFTV-Channel 9 anchor Greg Warmoth found Anthony “very demonstrative.” WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer said Anthony was “very animated” as she talked to attorney Dorothy Clay Sims, whose face couldn’t be seen.

Anthony “just does not look happy, to me, in that conversation,” Sheaffer said. “Whatever she’s saying it appears to be very strident.”

WOFL-Channel 35 anchor Amy Kaufeldt  agreed that Anthony was having “a very animated discussion” with Sims.

WOFL legal analyst Hal Uhrig said the defense attorneys and prosecutors were, as deliberations continued, asking what they could have done differently to make their case. “Trust me, having been there, you can’t help but continue to go through that in your mind while you’re waiting almost painfully for what the jury is going to say,” Uhrig said.

WKMG-Channel 6 legal analyst Mark O’Mara talked about deliberations. “You’ve got 12 people who are going to go back there with diverse opinions,” he said. “They are going to have their own life experiences that they bring, and they’re going to have to come to a consensus. If you think about any committee, trying to come to consensus on anything — what type of parade are you going to have, what type of fireworks are you going to use – there are always divergent opinions. This is a very unique process because they now have to take all of those differences and come to a consensus.”

O’Mara added that it’s very infrequent that there’s a mistrial by a hung jury. “Normally, those 12 people take their time — today, tomorrow,  maybe even the next day — and work through everything they can,” O’Mara said.
