Antigua & Barbuda have won their first two games at the Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association (ECVA) Junior (Under-16) Girls Championship at the Omnisalle Sport Complex in Marigot, French St Martin.
After beating Bermuda 3-1 in their opening game on Thursday night, the Antiguans made it two wins in row by recording another 3-1 victory over St Vincent & The Grenadines yesterday.
Hosts French St Martin is the other team participating in the championship that is scheduled to end tomorrow.
Ten athletes and three officials are carrying the nation’s flag at the championship.
The players are Ashley Asterman, Chekiyah Martin, Themara Tyson, Kendra Pierre, Jenna Greer, Jorrey Martin, Sharifa Simmons, Angelina Morris, Tiffaney Kaladin and Natasha Richardson.
They are accompanied by head coach Rosalie Lewis, former national captain Shauna Isaac and head referee Alister Benjamin.
Meanwhile, Antigua & Barbuda Amateur Volleyball Association (ABVA) will join the National Olympic Committee (NOC) in hosting some exhibition games at YMCA tomorrow.
The games, which will serve off at 6:30 pm, are being played in honour of Olympic Day.
All volleyballers and supporters are encouraged to come out in full support and show their Olympic solidarity on this day.
