Holiday World & Splashin' Safari in Santa Claus will unveil plans for a new $9 million ride Wednesday. Public relations director Paula Werne said the investment will be the largest for the park. Werne said the ride will be the first of its kind in the world and will be ready for the park's 2012 season.
State fair midway provider moves its HQ to Indiana
The owner of what's being called the world's largest traveling outdoor amusement park has relocated its headquarters from Mississippi to Farmland. North American Midway Entertainment said the move created 50 jobs in Randolph County. N.A.M.E. has been the provider of the midway experience at the Indiana State Fair for the last six years.
Butler University welcomes President James Danko
Monday was James Danko's first day on the job as Butler University's 21st president. The former dean of the Villanova School of Business now resides at the school's Carter House. Danko will be a guest on Inside INdiana Business Television this weekend.
Indianapolis welcomes Beep Baseball participants
The National Beep Baseball Association's annual World Series kicked off Monday in Indianapolis. Mayor Greg Ballard was set to welcome 16 blind and visually impaired teams from the U.S. and Taiwan for opening ceremonies.
Economic group buys land in Howe business park
The LaGrange County Economic Development Corp. has purchased land in the Fawn River Crossing Business Park in Howe. The organization said it took ownership of nearly 65 acres of "shovel–ready" land.
High–tech firm leasing more space from city
Lifeline Data Centers LLC said it has signed a 25–year lease with the Indianapolis Department of Public Safety for more office space. The new location will house its Regional Emergency Operations Center and Regional Department of Homeland Security offices. Lifeline bought the former Eastgate Consumer Mall in 2008 and opened a data center the following year.
Indiana's top chefs offer cuisine at food festival
More than 30 top chefs and food producers from around the state will come together to show off their creations. The second annual Dig–IN, A Taste of Indiana will be Aug. 28 at White River State Park.
NEH grant to help digitize old Indiana newspapers
A nearly $300,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities will go to help the Indiana State Library digitize the state's historically significant newspapers. It's part of a national program aimed at enhancing public access to newspapers published between 1836 and 1922.
Old National earnings surpass expectations
Evansville–based Old National Bancorp is reporting a second-quarter profit of $17 million, or $0.18 per share. The numbers are up from the same period a year ago and top analysts' estimates for the quarter.
