(RTTNews) - Jennifer Hudson took part in President Barack Obama's 50th birthday celebration, which was held on the evening of Wednesday, August 3, at a special Democratic Party fundraiser in Chicago.
The Dream Girls star led the crowd in singing "Happy Birthday" to the president as he walked onstage to the audience's applause. Hudson also treated the crowd to her own version of the Beatles' classic song "Let It Be."
Other performers featured at the president's birthday bash were rockers OK GO and jazz pianist Herbie Hancock.
Comedian Chris Rock hit Twitter afterwards with his take on the event:
"Just left the Presidents birthday party at the White House. Herbie Hancock played, Stevie Wonder sang and yes they did the electric slide. A great night."
All funds raised from the event went to the Obama Victory Fund 2012, a joint Obama 2012 re-election campaign/Democratic National Committee fund.
