Paying the bills by playing Starcraft II is no simple task, but there are plenty of gamers out there living the dream. Courtesy of IGN freelancer and team Sixjax Gaming director Cody Connors, we've got a by-the-numbers breakdown on how much money can be made playing Blizzard's sci-fi RTS.

In a feature story on our sister site, Connors says the explosion of eSports around the world has made it possible to make real money if your actions-per-minute are up to the task of Starcraft II tournament play. As an example, Connors notes that Jang Min Chul, aka, oGsMC, won two Global Star League titles in a three month period, earning a hefty $125,000.

Team contracts and sponsorships are also up for grabs, and one of the highest paid U.S. players is Greg 'IdrA' Fields from Evil Geniuses. See what he has to say about being a pro gamer in this interview with IPL:
Beyond tournaments, teams, and sponsorships, there is Starcraft II coaching, which can net pros anywhere from $25 to $300 an hour, streaming practice rounds with commercials embedded, and Starcraft II eSports casting.
