Springfield Man Accused Of Stealing Shingles

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio -- Authorities said a 23-year-old man is in jail, accused of stealing roofing shingles.

The theft happened early Monday morning at the Brentwood Apartments in Springfield.

A resident called and said he saw Arnold taking the shingles that were stacked to re-roof the complex buildings, police said.

The caller gave a vehicle description as the suspect was leaving the complex. Arnold was stopped along East Main Street, where an officer said he saw the bundles of shingles in his car.

Arnold was charged with theft, receiving stolen property, driving under suspension and driving without a license.
