TeamCoco.com, TBS' "Conan O'Brien Show" website, chalked up a list of the worst places to take summer vacations in the world.

The website listed Detroit as the fourth worst, right between World-Famous Clothing-Optional Lizard Safari in Lubbock, Texas, and CIA Poison Sumac Weaponization Center in Langley, Va.
According to the website, Grandadland in Kissimmee, Fla., is the overall worst summer vacation destination, and Dockers Beige-o-Palooza Adult Contemporary Jamfest in Myrtle Beach, S.C., is the runner-up.
The full list includes 20 places from around the world, but most are U.S. destinations, and many are fictional, the website says. However, Detroit is one of the very real destinations on the list.
Consequently, Team Coco's Facebook page met some heated responses from Detroiters calling the "Detroit is awful" joke old.
The person behind the joke responded to backlash from the social network's community with this:
Conan O'Brien Presents: Team Coco: "To everyone concerned about us ripping on Detroit: I'm from right outside of Detroit, visit frequently (I was there last week, for example) and have great love for the city. I personally put Detroit in jokes I write because I care about the place - and I have the hope that if we draw enough attention to the city, maybe someone will finally do something about it and enact real positive change. In other words: There's no such thing as bad publicity. There are much, MUCH worse places in the US that never get talked about... So can you really say attention is worse than silence? ;) - Bley"
