
CHICAGO (AP) — United Airlines is reporting a computer outage that's affecting flights nationwide. United says the outage is interrupting departures, airport processing and reservations. People trying to access the airline's website are also having problems.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Firefighters are trying to contain three huge wildfires in the Southwest but more stiff winds forecast for this weekend are threatening to hamper their efforts. One fire along the New Mexico-Colorado border has consumed 27,000 acres. In southern Arizona, two fires have charred almost 225,000 acres. And a fire in eastern Arizona along the New Mexico border has burned 773 square miles.
SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — A news report says South Korean marine guards fired rifle rounds at a civilian jetliner as it was descending to land after mistaking it for a North Korean aircraft. Yonhap news agency says the Asiana Airlines flight carrying 119 people was approaching an airport west of Seoul at dawn Friday when it was fired upon. The jet wasn't damaged and no one was hurt.
READING, Pa. (AP) — An eastern Pennsylvania toddler is expected to survive after falling from a third-floor window in his home. Police say the 2-year-old Reading (RED'-ing) boy fell, landed on a porch awning, rolled over the edge and dropped about 12 feet to the sidewalk. WCAU-TV reports he has some broken bones.
