Man held in Charlotte Hall Radio Shack robbery

A judge ordered Thursday that a Waldorf man be held in St. Mary’s jail without bond on charging papers alleging he robbed a Radio Shack store in Charlotte Hall of merchandise valued at more than $5,000.
Demond James Gleaton, 38, was charged with armed robbery in the May 27 holdup, plus additional theft offenses by St. Mary’s detectives investigating earlier incidents at the business.
$3,000 were reported missing from the business in September 2009, court papers state, and police recovered fingerprints at the business on May 4 of this year after a video game system valued at $249 was reported missing.

A man carrying a handgun and duffel bag confronted store employee Charles T. Hurrey in the business on May 27, court papers state, and he tied up Hurrey in a back room before stealing cell phones, video game systems and a computer from sales racks and display cases.
Charges against Gleaton were requested last week after investigators matched his fingerprints to the ones found at the store earlier last month, according to a charges
